Hello! I’m a juvenile (recently seventeen) and somewhat nihilistic high school senior from San Francisco. I admire many blogs and have started to write a little bit about the joys of being a teenager. Here are my chief attributes:

• My passions are music, reading, learning, and drinking.
• I like string quartets, Marge Piercy, belly dancing, Scrabble, modern opera, smoking, Nabokov, stories set on the moor/heath, SF’s amazing wealth of cheap takeout, making mixes, and runway fashion.
• I hate WWF, the concept and looks of comfort shoes, artificially flavored chips, people who refer to “the media,” wet feet, Cosmo (the magazine, not the drink), Microsoft Word, basketball, “green” and “red” as marketing schemes, hamburgers, debilitating nervousness, American Apparel’s attempt to bring back the fanny pack…

In order to remain anonymous to psycho stalkers and prospective colleges, I’ve decided to adopt Jane Doe as an alias– Jane is my middle name, plus I love that the moniker gives me this image of a fifties housewife. Like, “Hi, I’m Jane! I love the Eisenhower Doctrine and baking pies!”
